National Committees
In 1964 when INCAE was born, an Association was created under the leadership of Francisco de Sola. This Association was formed by a group of business leaders from the region, who came together to work with the purpose of forming an institution that would have a positive impact in the region.
National Committees from Guatemala to Panama were created from this Association, as a guide and support for the growth and development of INCAE in its early stages. In the year 1982, given the needs and the similarities Ecuador had with the Central American countries, it was incorporated as INCAE’s seventh member country.
The National Committees, formed by distinguished individuals from the private sector such as their countries’ civil society play a fundamental supporting role for institutional development as well as in defining the impact INCAE has in each member country. Each of the Committees’ Presidents serve as Directors in the INCAE’s Board, the institution’s most important governing body.
The main responsibilities of the National Committees are:
-
Participate, through their President, in the Board of Directors, representing each member country in INCAE
-
Advice about the programs in each country
-
Identify áreas in which INCAE can help their countries
-
Promote public interest in INCAE’s programs and activities
-
Support graduates to reconnect with the business community in their countries
-
Support INCAE’s fundraising efforts
